Edmund Fitzgerald Porter: Review

5.8% abv
37 IBU
12 oz bottle
Great Lakes Brewing
Cleveland, We Love Labron Ohio
My Strength Rating: 7.5

Best served at 55 degrees, so they say on the packaging and this is true for porters and stouts. This Porter has a nice dark body with some deep ruby edges and a thin tan head. A simple roasted malt nose but, the taste has a little complexity going on here. Nice creamy mouthfeel at times with some lingering roasted notes left of the palate. There is a solid dark chocolate taste here and it is of the 80% dark chocolate type – little dry and a nice bitterness to it. The roasted malts and the roasted coffee profile will satisfy this coffee lover. How about you?

I enjoy this porter in the late fall and winter months. This is a first for me to have it in the summertime. I think this is a pretty solid choice for a porter lover. What do you think?
