Burger & Sauce Pairing

The three different sauces: Bayou Bourbon Glaze by Tastefully Simple; Michigan Cherry Barbecue Sauce by Sansonetti; Smoky Bacon Grill Sauce by Tastefully Simple.

The Three different burgers from Walt’s Meats in Port Austin, Michigan. Blue Cheese Burger; Smoked Gouda and Mushroom; Cheddar and Bacon Burger. If you are ever in the Thumb of Michigan you have to get these burgers from Walt’s – they are the best – I always buy enough to take back home to Dearborn, Michigan.

I am going to cook the three different burger up on the grill and then cut a 1/6 section out of each burger to top with a sauce. No other fixins will be on the burgers.

Then, I will select which sauce is best with which burger.

My pregame selection
Blue Cheese burger will match with the Cherry Bbq
Smoked Gouda and Mushroom will match with Smoky Bacon Grill Sauce
Cheddar and Bacon - dah – Smoky Bacon Grill Sauce

Smoked Gouda and Mushroom Burger
1st choice: With the Smoky Sauce – very tasty – would work best with a slice of yellow onion.
2nd choice: Bayou Glaze – very good – would work depending on the veggies – have to be a sweet onion
3rd: Cherry Bbq – pretty good – didn’t bring out the flavors of the mush and gouda

Blue Burger
1st choice: Cherry Bbq – very good
2nd choice: Bayou Glaze – very good
3rd: Smoky Sauce – not bad – I’d pass

Cheddar and Bacon Burger
Toss up – I like all three – with this burger
